http://fastgush.com/wp-content/uploads/google+-page-logo.pngEarlier this year Google released Google + (plus), a social space for individuals which promises to provide functionality similar to Facebook. After launch it was apparent that there was no equivalent to Facebooks “Pages”, a social space for businesses and organisations.

After ironing out a few wrinkles in the public dashboard, Google promised to deliver a “Pages” space for businesses towards the end of 2011. Well that time has come, and Google + (plus) pages has arrived, this facility promises to provide even wider syndication for local businesses by connecting into existing Google Places accounts and providing a bolster for online brand security.

That being said, Google have got a long way to go before they put a dint in Facebooks armour, the functionality and collaboration possibilities are a little restricted.  If you have a team and want them to manage a profile as a group then you’ll be disappointed, perhaps this will be loosened up in future releases.

Once you have set up your account, you will be provided with several options to create your Google + (plus) button which will provide a javascript code to paste onto your webpages.

Go now and secure your brand inside the new Google Pages dashboard…before someone else does!
