After launch it was apparent that there was no equivalent to Facebooks &#8220;Pages&#8221;, a social space for businesses and organisations.</p>
<p>After ironing out a few wrinkles in the public dashboard, Google promised to deliver a &#8220;Pages&#8221; space for businesses towards the end of 2011. Well that time has come, and Google + (plus) pages has arrived, this facility promises to provide even wider syndication for local businesses by connecting into existing Google Places accounts and providing a bolster for online brand security.</p>
<p>That being said, Google have got a long way to go before they put a dint in Facebooks armour, the functionality and collaboration possibilities are a little restricted.  If you have a team and want them to manage a profile as a group then you&#8217;ll be disappointed, perhaps this will be loosened up in future releases.</p>
<p>Once you have set up your account, you will be provided with several options to create your Google + (plus) button which will provide a javascript code to paste onto your webpages.</p>

The change of address tool is located inside your Google Account under the Webmaster Tools menu.  Once inside the webmaster tools dashboard you will need to navigate to Site Configuration &gt;&gt; Change Address.<br />
Before changing anything inside the Webmaster tools dashboard it is important that items 1 and 2 are carried out on your server.</p>
<p>For best results, follow these steps:</p>
<p>1.    Set up the new site</p>
<p>Review our guidelines for moving your site to a new domain. Set up your content on your new domain, then make sure all internal links point to the new domain.</p>
<p>2.    Redirect all traffic from the old site</p>
<p>Use a 301 redirect to permanently redirect the pages on your old site to your new site. This tells users and search engines that your site has permanently moved. Ask webmasters to update their links to point to your new domain and make sure incoming links to your old site are redirected correctly using the 301 redirects.</p>
<p>3.    Add your new site to Webmaster Tools</p>
<p>Make sure you have added and verified your new domain.</p>
<p>4.    Tell Google the URL of your new domain</p>
<p>This is pretty much like moving home, you buy the new house, move in your belongings and furniture, add your personal touches and then invite everyone around to come and take a look once it is presentable.  When you invite people you’ll give them the new address so that they don’t get lost.</p>
<p>The steps above ensure that Googles spiders crawl your new site structure in entirely the same way that they crawled your old site.<br />
So if you had a webpage with an address:-</p>
<p>www.abc123.com/our_services</p>
<p>and your new domain was www.abc456.com</p>
<p>Then you would redirect that page to the new address using a 301 redirect to address:-</p>
<p>www.abc456.com/our_services</p>
<p>By following the above steps you avoid potential 404 “Page Not Found” errors, which are hugely damaging in terms of search engine rankings.<br />
If Google, or any other search engine for the matter, experience 404 errors on your site, they will remove the page from their index and stop sending traffic to it.</p>

<p>Recent ranking dynamics which were favoured by the White Hat webmasters have now lost priority in the leverage of ranking power, particularly in Google who dominate the drive for pure relevance and quality.  Link directories, Social Bookmarking, Web 2.0 property leverage and No Follow attributes now affect the way in which we carry out White/Grey Hat SEO campaigns.</p>
